ROBIN SET TO GET HIS OWN TV SHOW!

CW to launch 'The Graysons,' focusing on a pre-sidekick Boy Wonder, to replace or run alongside 'Smallville'

ROBIN SET TO GET HIS OWN TV SHOW!
Robin ain't no slouch.

He's the leader of the Teen Titans, one of Gotham's most valuable protectors and has played a role in saving the world—if not just the lives of numerous Gotham citizens—more than his fair share of times. Still, the Boy Wonder's greatest and most well-known legacy is that of sidekick.

However, looks like the CW is looking to give Robin his due, as Variety reports that the channel is prepping a series to put the sidekick in the spotlight with "The Graysons."

The show, which early reports are saying will be similar to "Smallville" in the sense it will focus on the famous hero in his pre-costume days, will be executive produced by "Smallville" producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson alongside "Supernatural," "Chuck" and "Terminator Salvation" executive producer McG.

Variety also reports that "The Graysons" is being looked at as a possible replacement to the maybe-it-is-or-maybe-it-isn't in it's last season, "Smallville," but also as a companion piece that could fit nicely within the DC TV world already established by the last Kryptonian's show.

While "The Graysons" sounds like a great way to capitalize off the success of the always entertaining Batman franchise, especially after "The Dark Knight's" success, and deliver some great stories—and psyched as we are for the Boy Wonder to get his shot at stardom—it does beg a question: how long can you draw out this show before the inevitable death of the entire Grayson family and Batman showing up with a pair of green undies and a cape asking Dick—or "DJ" as he's set on be called in the show—if he wants to jump around on some rooftops?

Still, sexy high school drama under the big top as Dick Grayson macks the circus ladies who gather round the trapeze in, kind of, a "Gossip Girl" meets "Carnivale" meets "Smallville" type way...well, it may just be crazy enough to work. Maybe.
