MATTHEW FOX IS 'BILLY SMOKE'

Doctor Jack turns in the scalpel for a handgun

MATTHEW FOX IS 'BILLY SMOKE'Who'd have guessed that of all the "Party of Five" cast members, Matthew Fox would be the most successful? Lacey Chalbert – despite being smoking hot – played second fiddle to Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in "Mean Girls," Neve Campbell has faded to near obscurity, and Scott Wolf has had failed project after project. But the Salinger family de facto patriarch is still kicking it strong with a steady TV job on "Lost" and big screen gigs like "Vantage Point" and "Speed Racer." And the pot's about to get sweeter and "smokier" for Mr. Fox.

Variety reports that a big screen adaptation of Oni Press's upcoming comic "Billy Smoke" is in the works, with Matthew Fox to star as the titular hero. The comic, written by B. Clay Moore ("Hawaiian Dick," "JSA Classified") and illustrated by Eric Kim, centers on "an elite hit man who's nearly killed during a botched job and realizes that his only way to find redemption is to rid the world of all assassins." The graphic novel hits shelves next year.
