HELL YEAH! TOYFARE'S GUIDE TO COLLECTING THE BEST HELLBOY FIGURES!Ray Parker, Jr. didn't see it coming, but how could he? Hellboy's very existence was top secret in 1984, when Ray chose the Ghostbusters as the people to call when there was something strange in your neighborhood. But now that Hellboy is more well-known than ever—thanks to his blockbuster movie, its upcoming sequel, his animated projects, video games, comics, etc.—it makes more sense to pick up the phone and call the BPRD's BMOC when you're seeing things and they don't look good.

I mean, when faced with an army of Nazi zombies, would you rather have Harold Ramis making the Statue of Liberty dance to gospel music, or the cigar-chomping demon wearing the Right Hand of Doom (patent pending)? Thought so. That's why we here at ToyFare chose to celebrate our favorite paranormal powerhouse with this visual price guide of Anung Un Rama and Co.'s finest playthings from Mezco, Sideshow and more. So turn off the lights (except your reading lamp) and take a peek at the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense's finest!

ABE SAPIEN
Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $10/$3; battle damaged, Series 1.5, 2005, $12/$3
Hellboy's icthyo-sapien friend comes with a replacement goggle-less head.

ABE SAPIEN (wetsuit)
E: DD, Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $15/$4
If seeing an almost-naked fish-man crosses the line for you, fear not—this Previews exclusive puts Abe in a wetsuit.

ANUNG UN RAMA
Hellboy Movie Series 1.5, Mezco, 2005, $14/$4
With his flaming crown and jumbo horns, no one'll be making fun of Hellboy's real name any time soon.

HELLBOY (trench coat)
Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $24/$6; 18-inch, $60/$15; Extended Features, E: SDCC 2004, $25/$6; battle damaged (w/stockade), Series 1.5, 2005, $14/$4
The Extended Features figure includes a pewter gun and polystone hand, while the Battle-Damaged has a stockade he fits in.

HELLBOY (black shirt)
Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $16/$4
This hot-as-hell Hellboy figure came with either angry or closed-mouth heads, and open or closed-fist versions.

HELLBOY (horned)
E: DD, Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $25/$6; 18-inch battle-damaged, E: TR $120/$45
This Previews-exclusive also came as an 18-inch battle-damaged version.

HELLBOY (shirtless)
Hellboy Movie Series 1.5, Mezco, 2005, $16/$4 How does Hellboy spend his downtime?
Workin' out and chompin' cigars! At least until Prison Break returns to Fox in March.

KROENEN
Hellboy Movie Series Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $18/$5
Arguably the best thing about the 2004 movie, this baddie comes with a removable mask. (Warning: his face ain't pretty.)

OFFICER KROENEN
Hellboy Movie Series 1.5, Mezco, 2005, $18/$5
If Series 1 Kroenen's costume was too ostentatious for you, this version puts him back in black. SS-ceptional!

SAMMAEL
Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $25/$6 Is this creature flipping us the bird?
I mean, he's evil, obviously, but that's pretty harsh even for Hellspawn.

RASPUTIN
Hellboy Movie Series 1, Mezco, 2004, $16/$4
The Mad Monk comes with a removable steel glove—but the money accessory? HELLBABY!!! Adorably demonic!

HELLBOY (“movie”)
Hellboy Animated Series 1 (Gentle Giant), 2008, $15/$4; horned, $24/$6
What better way to hit the town than shirtless and packing heat?

ALIEN
Hellboy Comic Series 2, Mezco, 2006, $18/$5
We've seen our fair share of butt ugly aliens, but this guy takes the cake. Plus, that's a pretty nasty-looking probe.

HELLBOY
Hellboy Comic Series 1, Mezco, 2005, $18/$5 Series 1's basic (and shirtless)
Hellboy comes with three different heads—calm, gritted teeth or yelling. Why so serious HB?

ABE SAPIEN
E: SDCC 2007, Mezco, $50/$13
Abe here used to be a dude named Langon Caul who got turned into a fishman on the day that Lincoln got shot (hence his first name). Those guys ended up in old-timey robot bodies on a small island. Yeah, we'd rather be a fishman too.

HELLBOY (trench coat)
w/Von Klempt with swastika, E: MezcoDirect.com, 2005, $30/$8; battle damaged, E: Figures.com, $22/$6; 18-inch (normal or angry face), $34/$9; 18-inch battle damaged, E: DD, $125/$31
Hey man, nice coat.

HELLBOY (w/Japanese heads)
E: SDCC 2006, Mezco, $40/$15
No one wants to be surrounded by floating heads. They never shut up, they're always hungry and usually want to kill you for some reason.

HELLBOY (w/Jet Pack)
Hellboy Comic Series 2, Mezco, 2006, $15/$4
Some nights you just want to cruise the town in your jet pack. What of it?

JOHANN
Hellboy Comic Series 2, Mezco, 2006, $14/$4
Here's a disembodied spirit just looking for a body to love. Or just a body to walk around in, he's not picky.

KRIEGAFFE #10 (w/Von Klempt]
Hellboy Comic Series 1, Mezco, 2005, $95/$24
Kriegaffe (German for war ape) is a talking, bionically-enhanced primate created by Nazis. Nazis love gorillas, for some reason.

LIZ SHERMAN
Hellboy Comic Series 1, Mezco, 2005, $16/$4
This Liz is based on her comic counterpart, not ultra-hottie Selma Blair. But she's still hot (in a pyrokinetic kinda way).

HELLBOY
Big Blast (Graphitti Designs), March 2001, $20/$5; w/BPRD T-shirt, $30/$8
The first-ever Hellboy figure, this trailblazing behemoth comes with a coat, sword and gun.

ROGER THE HOMUNCULUS
Hellboy Comic Series 2, Mezco, 2006, $14/$4
Homunculi are made of a combination of mud and human waste. It sucks being a homunculus.

LOBSTER JOHNSON (Mezco)
Hellboy Comic Series 1, Mezco, 2005, $15/$4; Ghost of Lobster Johnson, E: SDCC 2005, $15/$4
Mignola's homage to the pulps comes with a Killer Brain!

ABE SAPIEN
Hellboy Movie 12-inch (Sideshow), 2004, $32/$8
Clad in his signature wetsuit (and removable booties!), Abe again comes with a goggle-less head and BPRD utility belt.

HELLBOY
Hellboy Movie 12-inch (Sideshow), 2004, $50/$13; w/cigar, E: SideshowCollectibles.com, $120/$30; Ultimate, E: SideshowCollectibles.com, $120/$30
Leather!

KROENEN
Hellboy Movie 12-inch (Sideshow), 2004, $50/$13; “Final Battle,” $50/$13, Nazi uniform, E: SDCC 2004, $150/$50 His uniformed version was limited to 1,000.

ABE SAPIEN
Hellboy Animated Series 1 (Gentle Giant), 2008, $18/$5
Conrary to popular belief, animated Abe does NOT ride a giant seahorse. He does, however, sleep with the fishes.

EXTREME HELLBOY
E: SDCC 2004, Mezco, $45/$11
When Hellboy needs to get EXTREME, Mezco's there! They offered this stylized version of our fave demon with somewhat cartoony features as a con exclusive.

HELLBOY
Hellboy Animated Series 1 (Gentle Giant), 2008, $16/$4; open mouth, Series 1, 2008, $16/$4; trenchcoat, $18/$10; cigar-smoking head w/DVD, $25/$6
Smoking may be bad for you, kids, but it sure adds value to your figures if ol' Anung does. This figure comes with special alternate, cigar-smoking heads.
