Hop into your Vipers you frakkin’ motherfrakkers—there’s a new Battlestar Galactica comic blasting off from Dynamite this week.

The new issue of Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero (#7) hit stores on Wednesday, as the latest installment begins the extension of the series through a full 12 issues. Writer Brandon Jerwa and artists Charles Carvalho and Jackson Herbert continue the prequel saga of the Battlestar and its crew in the years leading up to the Cylon invasion. To get you primed and ready for this week’s latest offering, we take a look back at five of our favorite moments from the series thus far.
DYNAMITE SPOTLIGHT: 'BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: SEASON ZERO'1. MENTOR BREAKDOWN (BSG: Season Zero #1)
When Commander Adama is tasked with rescuing his former comrade and mentor Admiral Julian DeMarco, he finds himself thrust into a conspiracy of base star-sized proportions—DeMarco’s been running black ops for the Colonial military, and he accidentally kills almost 600 humans during a bombing run ordered by the powers that be! How’s Adama supposed to react when his best friend and teacher proves to be a mass-murderer and defector from the Colonial service? Take one frakking guess…

2. FULL COLORS, FULL MOON (BSG: Season Zero #3)
If there’s one thing the “Battlestar” TV show has skimped on, it’s nudity. And frankly, as hot as the cast is—both males AND females!—we’d love to see more flesh. Luckily in issue #3, the creators take our wishes to heart and have Starbuck mooning her crewmates after winning a hand (with “Full Colors, Frakwits”) at space-poker. How’s that saying go: Liquor in the front, poker in the rear…Kara Thrace is all over that shiz!

3. STARBUCK: SHARP-SHOOTER (BSG: Season Zero #4)
Starbuck is a total badass—you know this by now. But she turns all super-soldier in issue #4, when she and Helo—who’ve crashed on a planetoid while trying to track down terrorists targeting the Colonial government—mount a two-man assault on their HQ. Helo’s a newbie and nearly pooping his frakking pants, but Starbuck’s all gung-ho to get her hands on a shiny new sniper rifle, which she uses to spread penis envy to all the bad guys in sight.

4. UNWELCOME WAGON (BSG: Season Zero #6)
After some Colonial stooges take command of the ship and imprison Adama and Tigh in the Galactica’s brig, the two old warhorses put an escape plan together that’d make Steve McQueen jealous, and they quickly turn the tables to take command back and expose the conspiracy around Admiral DeMarco. This image right here is a classic Adama moment that rivals anything from the TV series.

5. ESCAPE CLAUSE (BSG: Season Zero #6)
In the final showdown between Adama and his mentor Julian De Marco, the two old soldiers square off in what looks to be a tense Viper battle for all the marbles. But before any shots can be fired, DeMarco decides to take his own way out, and blows the hatch on his spaceship, ejecting himself into the hard vacuum of space! That is some straight-up TV drama right there, the perfect capper to the first half of Season Zero. Make sure to pick up the latest installment, on sale now!
