PREVIOUSLY IN THE X-BOOKS:
Recently the X-Men fought a protracted battle to save the life of the newest mutant baby. To shield the child from those who would do her harm, the mysterious mutant Cable traveled with her into the timestream. Afterward, the rogue X-Man Bishop, who sought to kill the baby to prevent his hellish future from becoming reality, shot Professor Xavier in the head. With their founder and mentor gone, and his dream seemingly dead with him, Cyclops announced that there are no X-Men.
Meanwhile, Scott ordered Wolverine to lead a new team of X-Force to take down threats in black-ops missions, like the Purifiers – a group of religious anarchists founded by Reverend William Stryker. During their missions the team lost former Morlock Caliban and the Starjammer Hepzibah was severely injured.
Jamie Madrox's team of investigator and guardians of Mutant Town lost young Layla Miller as she was left 80 years in the future during a mission with one of Jamie's dupes. With the departure of Wolfsbane as she joins X-Force, the team's fate is unclear.
Mystique, former member and leader of terrorist group, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, joined the X-Men. Eventually she betrayed them and joined Mister Sinister and his Marauders. During the final battle she disappeared, uncalled for her crimes.

Recently in Uncanny X-Men: With the X-Men no longer active, Scott Summers and Emma Frost are having a vacation in the Savage Land. Peter Rasputin, Kurt Wagner and Logan are touring Europe with their latest destination being Peter's homeland, Russia. Meanwhile, a planned meeting with Warren Worthington and other mutants in San Francisco goes wrong when he finds himself trapped in a weird fantasy of free love, '60s era San Francisco. Scott and Emma hurry back to the states to find out what happened. In Russia, after a bar fight with local mobsters, Peter and his comrades' presence is known to the authorities, and it looks like someone is interested in catching them.
What happened:
-In Russia Colossus, Wolverine and Nightcrawler wake up in a train, when they're attacked by three giant robots.
-Wolverine takes on one of them, Colossus blows up another.
-Eventually, Peter's shot down, Kurt is distracted and ends up wounded; and Logan sacrifices himself to save his elfish friend, which leads to the mutants' defeat.
-In San Francisco Emma uses her telepathy to disguiseherself and Scott as hippies.
-Emma fails to track the source of the "magi." It appears that whoever caused it, is a mutant who is either extremely powerful or someone who lost control over their powers.
-The "Goddess" is in her private room with one of her followers Eli, who also serves as her bed partner.
-It seems that the "Goddess" doesn't know anything about herself, but she found good in the hearts of the people who discovered her—the followers.
-For some reason, Eli's reflection in the mirror is of a much older man than he appears to be.
-The "Goddess" collapses when she feels that someone is trying to find her and ruin her "party."
-She sends cops to hunt the intruders—Emma and Scott.
-The cops blame them for an act of terrorism and intend to shoot the couple.
-Emma can't get to them mentally. She shields Scott in her diamond form and Scott shoots their cars with his eye beams.
-They use the tumult to find a hideout.
-The "Goddess" now knows that they're X-Men, who are bad people according to Eli. She intends to give them a "bad trip."
-Back in Russia, Colossus wakes up to find himself chained in an unknown place.
-The bearded Russian man from last issue welcomes him. He wants to know why all Russian mutant agents lost their abilities on M-Day while he and his friends are fine. Nightcrawler and Wolverine are chained and locked up too, both unconscious.
Man vs. Robot
Wolverine—not one for hesitation—jumps on the first giant robot he sees. With his experience slashing through Sentinels, usually this one would've been a piece of cake for the ol' Canuck.
Airbag
Sometimes fighting alone has its benefits, for example: you don't have to keep an eye on anyone else but yourself. With Kurt wounded and unconscious, Logan jumps to catch him and becomes a human air bag. Take notice automotive industry!
The Lighter Side of Disappointment
After Emma whips up their hippy disguises, Scott is enthusiastic; though he prefers Emma's regular, "barer" look.
The perfect couple
Scott and Emma show the cops that they're not only good as a couple, but also work great together in battle.
Psychedelic!
The "Goddess" is so impressed by Scott and Emma that she wants to share the experience of hallucinating drugs. Oh, wait, I don't think that's what she actually meant...
