Rumors say that director Julie Taymor (Broadway’s “The Lion King”) has cast the leads in the upcoming Spider-Man musical. Supposedly, Jim Sturgess (Taymor’s “Across the Universe”) will be stage-slinging as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, while Evan Rachel Wood, also an “Across the Universe” alum, will take the role of Mary Jane Watson. According to a spy-story on thebadandugly.com, Sturgess and Wood have begun rehearsals, and are both powerhouse performers with great chemistry.
