PHOENIX RISING?

Marvel drops a preview image featuring the Phoenix but no explanation
By Jim Gibbons
Posted 2/7/2008
In a press release from Marvel this afternoon—accompanied only by the text “Stay Tuned…”—popped up an image of the Phoenix, some brood and what looks to be Cassandra Nova.

One would presume (and fans would hope) that the fiery female figure is Jean Grey, though without color on the page no red hue of hair can be glimpsed. The real curiosity is the reemergence of Cassandra Nova, best known as one of the main antagonists from Grant Morrison’s time helming the X-Men, as Phoenix reviving herself is really not much of a surprise at this point, though always a welcome event for X-Fans.
